I wish to continue with Xp for a while so today I set up a limited user account.
I am now stuck as on this account I only have internet explorer.
I wish to use Firefox but can't see where or how I can allow it to be installed etc.
My original account still runs Firefox no problem on the same PC so asking for advice on what I need to do.

    Thanks

    Xp pro sp3

What you should have done is create a new administrative account. Then log into the new administrative account and change your account that has all you programs installed and running to a limited user account.

At this point, I think what you need to do is log into XP using the hidden administrative account and reset your limited user account back into an administrative account.

after you have your account back to an adminstrative one, re-read my first paragraph and follow those instructions, creating a non-hidden administrative account. User this new account to now turn your familiar account into a limited user one.

First, in the limited account, search installed programs from the "start" menu on the bottom left of the screen. If Firefox shows up, you may be able to drag it to the desktop and create a shortcut.

If this doesn't work, try converting the limited account back to admin. level and reinstall Firefox. Once done, convert the account back from admin. to limited.

So far I have not done anything else with this limited account so shall I just delete it ?

My goal is to continue using Xp but trying to cover myself when I go online etc.
I have been using avg for a while but today I also installed avast 2014,malware bytes, kick start pro.

    Please advise thanks.
