We have very good fiber optic internet, and many devices that are all working fine except one. We have a nice desktop computer with a tower, and there is no internet. We tried an ethernet cable direct from the computer to the router, and still no internet. I cleaned up the computer as much as I could, deleting unwanted programs, and running Malwarebytes premium, and the computer seems ok in that area. It runs fast, except no internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ed

Check to see if Airplane mode is on (this shouldn’t affect Ethernet but worth checking).
Have you checked to see if the network drivers need updating?
Does the Ethernet adapter show under device manager?
Has the device been blocked within the router’s settings?

Thanks for the suggestions. Airplane mode is not on. Not sure if the network drivers need updating. It says they're working properly, but with no internet, kinda hard to look for updated drivers. Can't find the ethernet adapter in device manager, maybe you could tell me specifically where it should be. Pretty sure it's not blocked in the router settings. This was an intermittent problem that started about a month ago, but now it's permanent.

Your card may be dead.....you may wish to try a WiFi dongle.

Forgive my ignorance, what is a wifi dongle.

So I tried a network reset, and it seems to have worked. There was also a huge windows update that took about 3 hours.

Glad the problem was resolved. :)
I’d now visit the PC’s manufacturer’s website for any updated drivers.

It's an Ironside custom built computer, but I checked for any updated drivers for the network card, and it was up to date. I probably need to check every device for driver updates.
