Ok, my old mouse (Mionix Naos 3200) is going out on me, i want to replace it with a 10+ bindable buttons gaming mouse, problem is, I use a recliner arm as my mousepad (very bad back, cant sit in regular chair) and the few laser mice I have tried in the past didnt track well on the curved cloth surface of the chair arm, yet i can never find any optical mice with more than 6-7 buttons and 2 of those are usually dpi switches.

So, can anyone make any reccomendations? maybe a laser mouse they know to work on that type of surface, or something i could do to the arm of the chair to make a laser mouse work? or an optical mouse to look for that is 10+ buttons?

    Welcome to the forum Jim:)

Well I've just bought a 5600dpi Razer Naga and its the greatest mouse I've ever owned straight out of the box,the mouse I had before that was a 2000dpi Razer copperhead which is the second best mouse I've ever owned 'after modification to fit my hand'.

The tracking is awesome,I just tried it on a few surfaces for you to see how it handled them, leather chair fine, cdbox fine, gloss black painted surface fine,in fact I tried a load of different surfaces when I got it and the only thing I can't get it to work on is a mirror.

17 fully macro programmable buttons, you can program them to keyboard keys or just leave them as numbers, you can set profiles up for every game on your pc you can also program combinations of buttons to automatically navigate menu systems such as in ARMA or warcraft but I haven't experimented with that yet.

It's advertised as an MMORP but I don't play them,I use it exclusively for FPS and RPG's and it works great, its the first mouse I've owned where you can actually press the buttons on the side mid game without being a contortionist.

So yeah I'd definitely check it out:)
