No overclocking in Dell computers?

I have a Dell Dimension 9100...but I have yet to see anywhere I can change the BIOS settings for overclocking.

Does anyone else know if this is true with Dell computers, or am I just looking in the wrong place?

check out programs such as CPUFSB which can allow you to overclock prefab computers. It worked with my Sony VAIO

 

I've had many Dell desktop PC's, especially a lot of P4's (northwoods around 2-3Ghz) and have never been able to overclock them from the bios. Maybe try what Viper said, or just buy a cheap replacement motherboard and away you go (check reviews of the board to make sure it's OC friendly).

Bear in mind, if you buy a replacement board make sure your CPU is overclocking friendly. Willamettes are very hard to OC, Northwoods can be good. Maybe it would be worth getting a new board + cpu at the same time for the best results.

If you are looking to buy a new board, make sure it will fit in your case, I dont think all DELL desktops use conventional form factors.

 

I've tried probably nearly every app to o/c my Dell, to no avail.

 

Chating with Dell Gold Support tech who was able to speak his mind - NO way, as the BIOS won't allow for it.
