No sound from laptop speakers

I really need lots of help. About a month ago my screen turned blue and had this message about someone spying or something like that, along with a red balloon on my task bar showing every minute that I had been infected and had to click there. Well wih some help from you guys from MajorGeeks I got rid of that problem. However that's when my speakers stopped working, all it comes out of them is a crackling sound (sometimes that is). I really don't know what to do. I've tried downloading mediaplayer, tried finding some audio codecs with no positive results. My main problem is that all I know how to do is work on the computer but in no way I'm near a knowledgeable person when it comes to its functions.
