No sound on my computer!

Think something accidentally got uninstalled. Have no sound whats so ever on the computer. When I go into device manager there is a yellow question mark in other devices. Not sound,video,game controllers. When I right click the ? mark, there are 2 things that drop down. One says Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus and two says Video Controller (VGA compatible). They give me the choices to update; disable; & uninstall.
When I click properties it says to reinstall.
Says this... The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

If I try to reinstall it asks me for a disc. I do not have one. Not sure what I have to reinstall. DriverMax was not that helpful. I don't really want to keep trying these driver help downloads. I just want to know what exactly to do. This is the info I got from my computer. I am sorry I don't know more than this. It is not our main computer, thought it was rebuilt. I really appreciate any help. My kids are driving me nuts wanting sound for their games, lol. Let me know if you need anymore info. And yes, I tried system restore, didn't work. Thank you!

Not to sound too dumb, but I am still a little confused. Tried what I thought was right on that page, didn't do anything. Well, it put something into a zip folder. Could you be a little more specific. Sorry. Thank you.

 

Go to that page, click download, scroll down and you will see the drivers, click USA if thats where you are. ed

 

Yes. Did that. Was I suppose to do that under chipset? Or all of them?

 

it still put what ever in a zip file. Not sure what to do from there.

 

Audio and video is all that you need i think, do you have winrar on your pc? what type of zip file is it telling you? and have you tried to open it? ed

 

Have sound back! Yeah!!!! Wasn't able to fix the yellow ? mark that says VGA in other devices, but I have sound!

 

Go back to the same website and get your graphics[video] driver, then you are set. Good Luck. ed
