No Sound Please Help..

    Was cleaning out my computer and upps... I now have no sound and this error keeps comming up


    "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."

    Unfortunately, the report doesn't tell us alot.... it would have been easier if you had posted the HP or Compaq model number (I'm pretty sure this is an HP/Compaq system or the motherboard was removed from an HP/Compaq system). Anyway, I tracked down the drivers.... first, download and install the chipset drivers. You can download 'em from this link. Restart the PC when the install is done. If you have already installed an audio driver, be sure to uninstall it now. Then you can install the correct driver which is available at this link. Again, restart the PC when the install finishes. That should do it! Let us know how it goes... if you have problems or questions, we'll do our best for you!
