no sound

I had problems this a.m. and internet would not come up. Couldn't restore or anything. I messed around and it finally came up - not sure what I did. Anyway the sound disappeared. I checked for volume and the icon is gone. I tried checking under accessories under volume control and it says "no active mixer devices available" Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

click start> run> type services.msc>come down to windows audio, double click on it when the dialog menu opens up come down to startup type > choose automatic> click ok or apply > exit out of it> I would reboot after that and see if it that fixed it

 

I had same problem spent alot of time asnd ideas and in the end bought a new card. So you have to think if you spend 2 hours looking for it that is roughly $50 in wages, I paid $30 for a new card. Don't make sense I know but I am still venting my frustration over it.

I am saying just save the headache and buy a new card.

 

OKay I fixed the volume problem.
Not sure exactly how but something was turned off somewhere!
