    Hi,

I am installing a new Samsung Spinpoint hard drive, to replace my failing Maxtor. I want to have the two drives installed to move my data to the new disk.

Problem is that there is only one power cable for these drives. All of the spare power cables are 4 pin and both hard drives require a slotted power connection with 2 black, 1 orange, one red and 1 yellow cables. There is only one of these on my computer and this is connected to my old drive.

I have moved the power cable over to the new drive, but how do I get both drives powered. Is there an adapter I can fit to the numerous spare 4 pin supplies?

    Any help appreciated.

    Axel

    hi,

PC has the best idea. Another way would be a 4 pin splitter and whatever SATA power adaptors you need. Splitter probably is very difficult to find as today's PSUs usually have plenty of power connectors. Try a repair shop. They should have some maybe.

    Good Luck, Jim
