"No such domain" message in IE

Recently, I have been receiving the message "No such domain as www.xxx.com" on an inordinately frequent basis.

These are well established sites and the message doesn't always come up. It happens with nearly every site I visit; including this one and my e-mail site (hotmail).

These are not typing errors. They are chosen from page links and my favorites and the message will appear.

sounds like a DNS issue.
have you contacted your host to ask them if they were having any problems?
What OS are you running.

Have you scanned for viruses and spyware?

 

I don't know what DNS is.

I haven't talked to my provider yet.

Ad-Aware killed them both.

 

DNS is domain name service/server
Basically it's how IP addresses are translated to www.domainname.com

if your ISP's domain server is having a brain fart, you could get sporadic drops like that.
