No video

So, about 3 or 4 days ago my sister handed over her computer to me because I can almost always fix just about anything with a computer be it hardware too a missing line of code.

when she gave it to me when I started it up I an into this major problem, No video. what so ****ing ever, -,-

everything starts up fan/hard drive/mobo lights ect.

everything but the ****ing on board video.

Her whole computer is stock so it should start up but nooo.

any ideas?

P.S. i can't get any ****ing video that means no BIOS

 

What kind of computer is it? Dell, Gateway, HP?

How old is it?

What are the specs?

80 gig hard drive

pentium celeron d 2.8

on board video
that's all I know.

 

Are you sure the monitor is working ok?

 

yeah, it's mine.

and it's almost 2 months old.

 

Well that rules that out. Have you unplugged the little 4 pin power plug that goes from the psu to the mobo? If it has one.

 

Are you getting a post beep? try replacing the ram, to see if that is the culprit. It could be a bad board, bad PSU, Bad Ram, or even the likely bad video chip. If you get no post beep at all, I would suspect the mobo. If you get a post beep, try putting a PCI vid card in it.

 

does it have an s-video port? if it does try connecting it to a tv or somtin

the bios might have designated the svideo as the default and disabled the other connectors
