no wireless after fresh xp pro install

My laptop's hd failed. I installed a new hd and re-installed XP Pro. After the installation, a number of drivers were missing. Used Everest to identify what I needed and did installations. Now I'm having the following problems. I re-run and attached an Everest report.

    1. Though Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection is installed, no wireless networks are recognized.

    2. Bootup is very slow. It stops for an unusually long time at the "push 'tab' to post or 'del' to run BIOS setup" screen. It does eventually go past this screen. Then it shows a DOS screen with "MAC ADDR 00 19 DB 3A 8D 9F GUID: 00020003-0004-0005-0006..." (The three dots indicate that I did not transcribe the full sequence.) and PXE MOF: Exiting PXE.EXE" After this, it boot to the Windows screen normally.

    3. Device manager shows that PCI Bridge Device and SM Bus device do not have drivers. I have deleted both and rebooted. Windows recognized both as new hardware, but could not locate the software needed for the devices.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi

What is the make and model of your Laptop? as at times you will need the specific drivers for some hardware items that the maker supplies.

But the SMBus and PCI bridge are linked to not having the Chipset installed and yours is HERE, download, install and reboot, then check Device Manager again and see if they are still missing or not.

Then possibly if the wireless is still not recognised, reinstall it and try again.

The laptop is a Frontier Systems Model MS 10342B.

Thanks for the help. Here's an update:

I've resolved boot up problem by disabling the the network drive in BIOS. This has taken care of the PXE problem.

I've resolved the wireless connection problem.

The re-installation of the chipset took care of the SM Bus device driver problem.

My only remaining problem: I am still having a problem with the "other PCI bridge device." I've disabled it and re-booted, Windows recognizes as new hardware, but then can't find the driver. Any advice would be welcome.

    Hi

Open Device Manager up and double click that PCI Bridge entry and click Details tab then under Property in the dropdown choose Hardware IDs and copy and paste the text given in your next post.

Have you also run Windows update, odd times it can pick up a driver.

I have run Windows update, but it has not picked up a driver for this device.

    Hi

Cheers on the code, helps alot and I guess your laptop has media card slot? as this links to an O2Micro Integrated MS/MSPRO Controller Device and found some drivers HERE (have downloaded them myself to check for malware and the pack is free of malware, also I have used that site to find drivers before)
