Im running an second hand Dell Inspiron 2200 on this problem. It came to me with Win2000... which I promptly upped to WinXP Pro SP2.

The problem is no matter what I try I can get to or find any trace of the wireless properties, the one where you connect to hotspots and the such. The machine didnt have cardbus drivers, you know, for the wireless card slot. I installed to the best of my knowledge the right driver for this but it didnt make a difference. So, I updated all of windows updates. Still nothing.

Since this is a Linksys Card (WPC54G v2) Im dealing with, I installed that company's App that normally comes with it. Says the card isnt in. Well... it is.

I really dont know what is wrong, but any help would be great.

Is the card showing up in device manager under network adapters?

If I do....Ive never seen it...

How would I go about using that? My last laptop that had a built in gave me that wireless properties thing under network connections.

Ok, Ive fixed the card problem. The guy that had this thing before me had all the needed processes and services blocked/off. Having turned those back on, it works.

However, If there IS an built in wireless fuction, How would I go about turning it on? The function key combo for the wireless just makes an antenna tower picture pop up but I get no dialog for using it or anything.
