    Hello everyone...
I'm in the process of cleaning and disinfecting my PC, and am taking advice from several sources. As a matter of fact, I'm currently following your advice at
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407
    as well!
Well, offhand, I don't remember who told me to do it, but someplaces directions included either downloading and installing or just updating if I already had, Nod32.
SO...I opened Nod, went to updates, chose 'update now' because the last update shown was 3/28/07. Initially, everything looks fine...something begins loading (The status chgs from idle, to downloading (u22.eset.com), and the last filename shown is "engine2.nup'. Then this window pops up requesting password (the exact request reads "Enter password to access u35.eset.com Note: For the username and password to be remembered, they must be entered correctly in the updates setup window." The username and password areas are already filled, with some code for the user, and, of course, stars for the password. So I hit ok, the box disappears, then comes right back. Thats it.
So I went to the setup update area and trried replacing the Stars with the password I have for the rest of Nod32, which is longer than what WAS entered.( I wasn't asked to provide a username elsewhere, so I didn't chg that). I went back and tried it again. Same result.

    ???????????????????NOW WHAT???????????????????

Not to put Nod32 down but why not use Avast which works great plus it's FREE.
    Just a suggestion...

I HAVE used Avast--still do through my context menu, but I didnt like the GUI...Looking to install a kasperkey or avg Pro...working on it...
Just as a by the by: I double chked and it still has that problem (NOD32, I mean). It doesn't interfere with the use of the program at all...but the last update was 3-28, and it shows that its registered in the about dialog.....
