norten question

hi, my laptop came with a free trial of norten 360 which I'm not going to keep using, my question is,,, should I use the "norten removal tool" from this site before downloading the security software from my provider. The reason I'm asking is because the e-mail antivirus from my provider is by norten and I'm not sure if the norten removal tool will remove all norten products or just what norten products you choose. hope this isn't too confusing, thanks in advance for any help.

 

you just have to read it. more than likely it will remove all of it, but it varies (it'll list what it's for). the same for the d/l from their site, it'll list what it removes. g/l with your other norton product(s). i have dsl, and they changed from trend micro, to norton and i tried it on 1 of my comps (out of the 3 that are here), and it was sluggish. of course, out it went, and i'm back on avast, and zone alarm for all. - sos

fyi, make sure you run the uninstall program 2-3 times or so (making sure to reboot in between).

 

well, i think you are supposed to remove the norton/symantec programs thru add/remove programs, and use the norton removal tool, to get rid of the remnants??!! :confused - sos
