I just loaded my new anti-virus, Norton 2006. During the install, Nortons indicated that it wanted to be the in charge firewall for my pc instead of windows. Sould I allow this? If not, am I still protected from internet worm threats? Are either of them a good firewall or should I look elsewhere?
I have a pc and a laptop both running XP. I am hooked to the internet via a broadband connection and use a wireless router. I use encryption and mac filtering for wireless protection. Both use Norton for anti virus and both have Adaware and Spyblaster installed and running.
All advice appreciated about the firewall question.

Most of us would have not recommended anything from Symantec but since you already have it, yes it needs to be your firewall. The Windows firewall does not provide adequate protection. You can read more in step three of this link: How to Protect yourself from malware! In fact you should read this whole link.
