Is it true that if you have prior yr Norton & you download the renewal, you get live updates only & not the full year as if you purchased a brand new software disk at Best Buy.

    Hi

The renewal info is HERE couldnt make much sense of it myself as it says "your Norton product" that to me means only updates to your version say if its 2010 you may not get 2011, but further reading and clicking a few links, gets me the below thoughts.

However it does also state this "You are entitled to the latest features and performance improvements in the newest version of your Norton product, during your service period. Check for free updates to your product at the Norton Update Center." info HERE on Norton Update Centre and would think as a subscriber you are intitled.

and remembering what a collegue in work mentioned is that he did indeed get the latest version with his renewal, so it gained the new Norton to replace his older previous version, but this was UK, so I would check with Nortom support but I would hazard a guess is that on renewal you should be offered the lastest version, but check.

There are other Antivirus apps that are free and update to new versions freely, just mentioning this as it will be, but if your happy with Norton then thats fine and ok.
