Norton 360 Screwed Up My List Of Favorites In Edge – Can I Fix It?

The feds threw Kaspersky out of the country because they're a bunch of Russki spies, so following the online recommendations of reputable pundits for best security software in 2024, I replaced Kaspersky with Norton 360 Deluxe.

Over the years I've amassed hundreds of Favorites in Edge, and I recently spent several hours ordering them just the way I wanted them.

Then I started getting a ton of YouTube ads, so I enabled Norton 360's ad blocker.

But this somehow caused my Favorites list to revert to the way it was over a year ago.

It reminds me of Microsoft's constant attempts to 'help' me. How so? Like this: What these giant software houses all too often bring into my life is just literal torment.

So, is all my hard work just plain lost? Or can I get my Favorites list back the way I want it without having to do all that work again?

And is there some 'best practice' to avoid this kind of fiasco from happening again in the future? Short of setting a restore point before making each change, that is, that can take forever.

You can save or export your favorites/bookmarks to an HTML file that you can import into any other browser that can read this as an import. This way, no matter which browser, version of browser, or extensions/plugins that are used, you can always import the saved configuration. Better still, save this to a cloud file store and you can use the same favorites across all your devices that can access this.

    In Microsoft Edge:
Click the 3 dots at the top right of Edge, choose Favorites
Above the list of Favorites on the resulting pop-up menu, beside the 'Add Folder' link, is another 3 dots, click that and choose 'Export Favorites'
