Ok here goes! I bought the Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security software. I bought these because they were bundled at a cost of $20 when you bought Turbo Tax which I was buying anyway.

Here go the questions should I even had bothered as I had AVG Free edition and Sygate Firewall.

Second question is I am trying to install the Norton Anti -Virus and I get to a section and it says my Active X controls will not allow the page to display properly. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing will make this go away.
    PLEASE HELP.

This would probably be best answered in the Software Forum.

If you like having your PC's resources wasted (causing it to run slower) and to be cluttered up with close to a dozen items running, then go ahead and keep Norton.

Personally I would have stuck with AVG or even Avast.

Follow up on which AV and Firewall to use

ok since Norton will allow me to send back the software for a full refund I have decided to send it back to them and have reinstalled AVG.

Please let me know if this is the best AV to use and also which Firewall is the best of the best.

I think that both AVG and Avast are neck and neck for performance. So keep AVG. As far as firewalls the two free ones recommended in How to Protect yourself from malware!) are Sygate and ZoneAlaramFree. Both very good. Some people feel ZoneAlarm is easier to use but is a little more bloated (uses more system resources). Both of them also have more advance version you can purchase if you decide you like them and want more features and support.

thanks as always i was running avg and spygate after the included Norton AV and IS were expired. Just wanted to make sure those were on par. I didn't like ZoneAlarm it was Chunky when I tried to install and kinda goofed things up. I had put the Spygate on another computer previously and liked it

    Again thanks.

Your welcome! Be careful with names of software. It's Sygate not Spygate.
