Norton Antivirus Remnants

okay i uninstalled Norton Antivirus 2002 about a week ago... uninstalled everything from Add/Remove programs... deleted the corresponding Symantec folders from program files etc... ran RegCleaner and deleted any entries related to Symantec after that, and then ran RegCleaner's autoclean feature... everything is pretty much gone off my system except for this one entry in my Startup tab (via msconfig)... it's not big deal and causing no ill effects on my performance but i just want to completely get rid of all remnants =]

they key is listed as SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

i navigated to that spot (i think), and didn't see anything there) perhaps i wasn't looking under the right part of the registry?

 

I "think" thats pointing to here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Did you check under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well?

 

well under that section, there is this Optional Components tab under Run:

dunno what those entries pertain to but i wasn't able to identify them as Symantec's LiveUpdate:

okay sweet... now do i just right click the entire folder and delete this bad boy?

As you can see, whatever run entries unchecked in msconfig, end up in that list.
