Norton Corp Edition 7.51

My friends PC has been hit with several viruses. The one virus that shows up the most in the warning window and in history (multiple dates/times) is "backdoor.trojan" When she tries to delete and/or quarintined all of the viruses, the program tells her that the delete and quarintine failed. So of course, she keeps getting a virus warning. I went in to the history log and found all the viruses and tried to delete and/or quarintine them. It tells me that it can't because of they have been deleted or moved, the PC is turned off and something else that I can't remember. I went to Norton's website and it told me to update the virus def files, turn off the "system restore", rebot in SafeMode and then run a full scan. When this was all completed, the system showed NO viruses but if I return to the history screen, they they all are. While still in SafeMode, I was able to see the viruses that the system tried to clean/delete/quarintine but it wouldn't let me do anything with them. I have no idea how to get rid of these. Any suggestions.

This may help find xpscrub in the registry area of the software portion of this website and try to clean the registry of unlinked reg and dll's,,,, ,then try a reboot,,,if not contact norton by phone , 1-541-335-7000 hope this helps. Good Luck , Glenn

 

you could either hunt em down your self or download a program like ad aware or spysweeper.... Have you cleared cookies\history\temporary internet files?

If you have Internet Explorer do this:
Click Tools
Click Internet Options
Click Delete Cookies then click "ok"
Click Delete Files then click "ok"
Click Delete files again and check delete all offline content then click "ok"
Click Clear History and then click "Yes"

This will clear your computer of ALL cookies, ALL temporary internet files, and it will clear your history...
