I can't believe that after all these years, NDD still hasn't figured out a way around windows swap file. I have Norton's System Works 2004, which includes NDD as always. When I try to run NDD under windows, I get a message that: ""The operating system . . . currently has exclusive access. . .", and that all I can do is have checkdisk run at startup. At least that's what I get on the symantec site.
I suppose that this should be directed to symantec tech support, but we all know what a waste of time that would be.
My question is: Have any of you found a way to get NDD to run under WinXP Pro? I've even disabled the swap file, and it still won't run...
I've used NDD for years, but this is the first time I've tried to run it under XP Pro.
Any help would be appreciated... :)
    thx, bob

I has nothing to do with NDD and the swap file. It has to do with NDD not being able to handle locked NTFS volumes. Ever since Windows 2k/XP, NDD has been little more than a chkdsk front end.
