    hi,
i'm new here and i'm looking for some help with my norton anti-virus. i'm running on windows xp sp2, recently i disabled my firewall and turned on my xp firewall, i did this because i've been having problems with my norton firewall. so now i have norton antivirus, and my other firewall running, and every 30 seconds or so a notification window from norton pops up and tells me my norton firewall has been disabled. it closes before i can even click on it. this is very frustrating and has become quite an annoyance, is there anyone here who knows how i can turn this alert off?

oh btw im using norton antivirus 2004

    thanks

I don't know much about Norton firewall but there might be a setting in your services to turn it off. You may want to consider one of the free firewalls like Zonealarmlink IMHO it is far superior to Windows. I have paid versions of MacFee and Norton utilities that I have deleted from my computer because they are bloated and try to take over your computer. Nothing but a pain in the butt as far as I am concerned. There are as good if not better free ware programs to choose IMO. Check out the anti-virus(AVG,Avast). Same with anti-spyware.
