Norton FireWall

Iv jus got the 06 version and my old 05 version near the end of its time did this - For some reason it blocks all internet related programs and will not let me access the internet at all, but when i turn off the firewall and norton antivirus auto protect i can access the internet and all the programs to do with the internet, so why is it that its blocking me from doing this, iv gone on to configure firewall and set the internet explorer,msn etc.. to permit all but still nothing it doesnt work, hmmm any suggestions thanks. and this is happening to my newly installed 06 version to.. thanks for your help guys.!

 

hi' have you configured the norton firewall for you'r IP provider? i had this same problem when i installed norton firewall. could'nt connect to the internet at all. i use aol. so i had to manually configure the firewall to allow aol to connect to the net. hope this helps.

it should tell you how to configure your firewall on the help page of you'r internet provider. it's usually on (help) (singing on options) (configure firewall) if not i suggest you ring them and they will tell you how to do it. hope this helps.

what internet provider do you use? if you are on aol i can help you! aol is the isp i use so i know how to configure the norton firewall for it. if you'r not using aol again i suggest you contact you'r ISP and they can give you details on how to configure the firewall for there service. sorry i cant be more help.
