Norton problem

My norton is out of date and i can't afford to update it at the mo it's not really a problem but every time i start up i get a warning that is out of date (pic attached) if i close it comes back instantly and on top of all the other windows how do i stop it from doing this?

Oh it's norton 2002.

Since norton doesn't release virus signature updates for NAV2002.
You would be crazy not to take TimW"s very solid and free advice,
AVG updates more often, is free, is way less of a crippling resource hog.
I've used it for 4 years without a hitch.
There are other free AV's, anything is better than what you have.
When you get the cash if you still want to go back, it's alway's your
free will.

I've unistaled norton and installed avg.

Is there a good freeware firewall i can run with avg?

zone alarm is a popular choice and one i personally use, it runs sweet as a nut for me and i use it while gaming too.

I am glad that you uninstalled Norton. The software is definetly a hog on system resources and stays buried within the registry. When I uninstalled my Norton, I found code buried in the registry and it took me hours to finally clean it out. I was an avid Norton user for many years and now I wouldn't buy it again. Good luck.
