Well Chaslang I reformatted recently and my HP recovery disks had Norton bundled into them, so they reinstalled Norton on my pc. But I ran the Norton Removal Tool, but that didnt remove everything obviously cause Windows Secuirty Center says Norton Worm Protection and Norton Antivirus are protecting my pc, even after I ran the tool. heres a ss.

Do they appear in Add/Remove programs?

Are there any services related to them running (see the O23 line in a HijackThis log)?

Is this the same PC as in your other active thread in the Malware Forum?

Does Security Center still say the same thing after a reboot and after installing a new AV and a new firewall?

Did you install Avast before removing Norton?
Did you install NOD before removing Avast?

Exactly what order were the steps in migrating from Norton to NOD run?

    Heres the deal
    I reformatted my pc
I uninstalled Norton and installed Avast and Jetico
    Then I noticed the problem
So I tried running the Norton removal Tool once more
Failed, so I tried your suggestion of installing a new antivirus/firewall
Now I have NOD32, but its still says that Norton is protecting my pc

You more than likely had multiple antivirus and possibly firewalls installed at the same time at some point. This often messes up Windows Security Center and as far as I know there is no know fix. This is another reason why multiple antivirus applications and firewall must never be installed at the same time.

You may want to check over in the Software Forum to see if anyone is familiar with this issue.

My only suggestion at this point would be to disconnect from the internet and uninstall ALL antivirus applications and firewalls and then to reboot. After reboot delete ALL folders related to the antivirus and firewall. Then double check Windows Security Center know to see what it says. If it still indicates that Norton is protecting your PC, disable all components of Windows Security Center. Then install your antivirus application and firewall and then reboot. Check to see if there is any change in Security Center.
