Norton System Works 2003

    I was reinstalling everything today from a fresh format (NTFS) Windows XP Pro. I got SATA controllers for my old Seagate Drives. Anyway I get everthing in and always do Norton last and it won't install Live Update. It says I need to re-enable "Long Pathnames" and then I can proceed. What the heck is it talking about? Is that something like 8.3 filenames? Anyway I don't know how to do this.

    I got it taken care of. I couldn't seem to find relevant information for a while.

    Heheheh.. had the same problem last night. Disabling that NtfsDisable8dot3namecreation can help your performance too... even if you don't have Norton's I'd suggest setting it to 0.
