not a valid image...??

when I turn on the computer I get a message that states:
The applicaton or DLL C:\Program Files\Kuaiso Toolsbar\msvcp60.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your instalation diskette.

What does this mean?
I am running windows XP on a Dell Laptop with a pentium4

also sometimes explorer won't open when I click it or it takes a good 2 or 3 min before it pops up. Sometimes if I end an iexplore in task manager it will imediately pop up... could this be related?

This sounds like something is trying to launch a DLL with the incorrect program. This spells malware to me. (Users and legitimate programs don't usually do things like that) So does the problem with explorer.

Please visit the malware removal thread and follow the instructions there.

 

msvcp60.dll should be the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library.

Kuaiso Toolsbar however does REEK of spyware so i'd like you to do the following and we'll take it from there.

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)

• Bitdefender
• Panda Scan
• HijackThis
