WTH??

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) - A man who was struck in the head by a train this weekend was also hit in the head by a New York City subway car three years ago, officials said Monday.

Parker T. Hall Houghtaling, of Stanfordville, 23, was hit in the head Nov. 18 by a Metro-North train as it pulled into the Poughkeepsie station. He was listed in stable condition Monday.

In 2002, Houghtaling was waiting at a subway station in Manhattan when he stuck his head out and was hit by a subway car. He was hospitalized with a shoulder injury, nose fractures and bruises, according to the Metropolitan Transit Authority.

It was unclear Monday what led to either incident.

MTA police are continuing an investigation, Metro-North spokeswoman Marjorie Anders said.

If I were him, I would not be using trains/subway system in future, not one of the safest things to do stick your head out to see if train is coming!!!! Do they have yellow or painted lines on the subways alerting you to do not cross?

Cannot remember where the train station is in the UK ( think its Crewe ) but the warning line is over 6ft away from edge of platform as if your too close when express is passing the woooosh as it goes past can suck you in.

Is it possible that the first time the train blasted him in the head it did enough damage that he forgot to duck the second time? Or mebbe he likes it? I mean, it`s not like biting your tongue, or hitting yourself with a hammer(guilty of both of these lotsa times), most people would learn the first time?!?!?

hey, I used to live near POUGHKEEPSIE and let me tell you, I'm not surprised some chuckle-head got hit by a train..
