not responding

why does my computer hang up
I visit pogo.com to play online games and then after while the game freezes and everything freezes(I have several other windows open to other sites)
what can I do to not let my computer freeze up and go to NOT RESPONDING(in the Task manager)

 

What are you running for an OS? Browsers? and How many windows do you have open when this freezes?

 

I use XO
maybe 3-6 tabs open
and 2-3 windows
the pogo.com windows are what do it, I never freeze up unless they are in useage

 

XO is an O/S I wrote myself and I will be selling it to Gates/mircosoft within the next year.

So just beware of pogo causing this issue? Otherwise I have never had this problem..

hmmm, so I can't do anything to stop this?

on an unrelated note, my HD is 7-80% full, would my computer run better if I move the extra files(songs, videos) on to external HDs and only accessed them when I wanted to?
That's way off topic, but I didnt deem that question worthy of a new thread.

What your ram stat?

I agree with Mark on that pogo is some trouble, had a few clients tell me the same thing...

 

I don't know how to find that

 

as clickuser put it Would be a Good IDEA for u to do that cleaning too....

For ram stats

Go to start -> control panel -> then system, look in general tab for how much ram you have, should also list Windows XP, service pack number

 

the defrag says I don't have to do it now, I usually do it once a month though
and I use CCleaner to get rid of the crap before I use the internet
the system properties are pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz
3.20 Ghz , 1.00 GB of RAM

I vaguelly remember that all my slots for extra ram were full, I don't know how to check that though

with pogo, no, that's all cleared up
I am so frickin' confused as to what I did though
I use IE7 and I show links and under the address bar are my links, and somehow they all got messed up, out of order? I am not sure at all what happened, I go to Favorites-->organize favorites--> I try to move them, but all my links are now alphabetical and won't move out of that order....

I tried to restore, for whatever reason my XP wouldn't restore, so I got firefox and that seems to be working ok, I organized that links really easily,.
