Well, I downloaded Escaflowne (animee) and then burned the entire series to dvd, only to find that there is no sound...what the? Now I see that there are some files .ssa format. Does that have anything to do with it?

I'm using Express burn wich is about to expire. That have anything to do with it? I've burned tones of movies and they all seem fine.

    Help plz :D

But when i play an episode on the pc, I get sound.

When I burn that episode to dvd and then play it on my pc or dvd player on a tv, no sound.

Express Burn probably does not support the audio codec used in the video files. Try the DVD Flick program. It has support for a lot of video codecs including some of the less common open source ones used by anime encoders.
