  1. Hey!

I turned my laptop on this morning and it come up with this:

    Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 (build 082) v7.0.3
    Copyright (C) 2003 Broadcom Corporation
    Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
    All rights reserved

    Intel Base-Code, PXE-2.1 (build 082j)
    Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check caable
    PXE-MOF: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM
    Operating System not found

This is the second time its come up, all I do it just turn it off and turn it back on and it starts up.. Is there something majorly wrong? Or is it a simple error?

    Hey!

Nothing major, it is trying to boot from the network adapter built in to your laptop. Simple fix is to go into your laptops bios and either move it down in the boot order or if you can disable the boot feature of the network adapter......

Sounds like a loose data connection.

Yeah, you'll get that when it is trying to boot from the network adapter and it doesn't find anything out there in ethereal plane... Odd though, after it doesn't find anything on the network it should go to the next boot device.

  6. I'm guessing the operating system isn't found because network adapter built in to the comp which hasn't got an operating system on it, and with the cable I'm not sure on that! Have never touched my laptop, hasn't had anything wrong with it until now.. Could it be that the power cord is loose? Because that has to sit in a certain way or it don't work (has to be plugged in all the time coz my battery doesn't hold power for long)

If able to get as far as you say, you most likely have power.
Cables can loosen very easily, simply by moving the machine sometimes.
Wouldn't hurt to check or have it checked.

  8. Yeah i know i have power.. just wasn't sure if it wud be picking up the power cable or a cable inside the laptop, yeah i think i should get it checked out! And the power connection too, before its totally stuffed
