not sure if this is malware?

ever since yesterday my co-workers computer has been working incredibly slow. Internet explorer works fine its everything else that doesnt work.

Word, Excel - wont save anything and will not close (even through task manager)

Quickbooks will open then minimize to the bottom of the screen, where you cannot maximize it and it wont close either.

Task manager wont close when opened.

Even alt-contol-delete wont restart the computer.. i have to go into start menu and click on restart and it takes forever to shut down and restart.

We have trend-micro 2007 and the scan said that it found nothing but a few cookies so im not sure what the problem could be? thanks for the help
