Hi, I am new and unsure if this is the right place to ask this question since I don't know if this is software or a hardware problem. A friend asked us to take a look at his ailing PC and hubby has been working on it all day. The problem is that it is a DOS machine that keeps saying it is a MAC! He has formatted the drive twice! Is this a virus? Is this a BIOS problem? Isn't a MAC formatted differently than a Dos machine? Color us confused
Thanks for any help out there and please tell me if I need to post this in a different forum.

What exactly is telling you that it's a Mac?

Thanks for replying - hubby would get so far and Windows would report that it couldn't update this or that because it was a Mac machine. Turns out it is now a non-issue because they are scrapping the machine (it is very old - only 32 mb ram) and buying new in a couple of weeks. Thanks again!:)
