    Hello,

Two days ago around midnight my computer started acting all messed up. A few programs started opening on their own and my cursor was jumping to different areas of messages when trying to type emails. I ran Ad-aware and AVG virus scan, but it came back with nothing. I turned the computer on the next morning and two of the icons (Norton Systemworks and Recycle Bin) were flashing. I tried to log onto the internet, but when the dial up window opened, my pc started filling the username field with "nnnnnnnnnnn". I closed the window and hit the esc button. After that the icons stopped flashing and I could open all my applications no problem. However, the keyboard won't work at all. I can't type anything. Does it sound like their is a virus on my PC, or do I maybe just need a new keyboard? Could a faulty keyboard be causing these problems? I bought my PC used so I'm not sure how old the keyboard is.

As the keyboard won't work I am sending this message from work. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Shawn

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Actually it sounds more like a problem with your keyboard than it does malware. Just try another keyboad (borrow one from work if you can just to do an overnight test). That should be sufficient to tell you whether you need a new keyboard or not. However even before that, I would first make sure the PC is powered off, then unplug the cables for your mouse and keyboard and clean them with a power duster (you know those high pressure air spray cans) clean both the connectors on the chords and all the connectors on your PC. It may even be a good idea to open your PC clean all the dust out of it.

Let us know the end results!
