Not sure what I have, IE 7 problems

It started a few days ago, I cant get to some web sites we usually go to. Mapquest, aol, pogo, craigslist and more. I cant use my aol browser will not let me connect. Web sites says, waiting for reply, nothing happens. It usually stays on the road runner home page. Some times it says :slirsredirectsearch.aol.com/slirs_httplsredir=843&invocatonType=TB50 CLab&query=microsoft.

I have windows xp, and I am using IE 7. I have tried spybot, adaware, Ca virus scan, avast. Everything is fine. I reinstalled IE 7. Shut down firewalls.
Removed and reinstalled firewall.

I called time warner cable they had me ping a few web sites, yahoo I can get to, aol I can't it says Timed out. Finallly after about 2 hours on the phone one person says there is something wron with my computer call emachine. After another 2 hours on the phone with time warner they said I have spam, a worm or something. I redid all my scans, nothing.

Please Help! I read your read first section, but I don't know if this is what is wrong!
