    Hi there. I am new to all this so bare with me. I went thru the Read & Run Me instructions and I hope I get what you needed. Before I attempt to attach everything you requested, I will tell you my problems (at least just the computer ones) and hopefully we can fix my problems before I drop kick my computer off my deck. I should also let you know that I still have prehistoric 56k dial-up and it takes a while for me to do things...like 3 days to do your Read & Run list!

    My computer info: (being a computer retard, I will just give you all info I can find, just incase)
    * I have a Powerspec AMD Athalon processor, 999 MHz, 312 MB of Ram
    * 56k dial-up
    * File System FAT32
    * Free space 2.25 GB, total size 9.30 GB
    * I use Spybot S&D, Avasti AntiVirus, SuperAntiSpyware, CCleaner and Windows firewall (I tried Agnitum Outpost but It didn't seem user friendly and it totally bogged down web surfing!)

    Situations:
    * Unable to use the cd drive on my tower. Had system troubleshoot it and it shows no problem.

    * Everytime I try to use Acrobat Reader (5.1) I get a message "Acrobat can't open "---" because it is either not a supported file type or has been corrupted..."

    * Had Advance System Optimizer 2.10 installed and am trying to get rid of it cause I don't think it works and takes up too much space. Cant uninstall it. Keep getting an error msg "Cannot delete ShellExt.dll. Access denied".

    * "Service Manager not available" message keeps appearing when I try to open files of programs still on my system (ie. Star Office 6.0).

    * For a while I kept getting "missing Winzip.hlp" message. I uninstalled what I had an re-installed winzip 11.1. I think this is working now.

    * I ran your tests and will attach the requested info. I did find viruses and a trojan horse (learning so many new words these last few days) and am at a loss as to what to do from here.

    I stopped before "toggle system restore in Win xp" cause I didn't think I was problem free. thought I would check in to see what to do from here.

    I ran
    * Avast Antivirus since that is what I already had (takes way too long to download programs) and got 2 reports (attached)
    * SuperAntiSpyware:

    * BitDefender (attached log)
    * Tried Panda many times but was unable to complete. Would get all the way thru scan and then nothing other than "error on page". I even turned off Avast.

    I will continue other tests in 2 post

    Not sure what to do from here..part 2

    I wasn't sure if I was to post a new thread, reply to post didn't give attachment options.

    any way, I also did these tests:

    *GetRunKey (see attachment)
    *ShowNew (attachment)
    *Hijack This (attachment)

    I hope I am sending you enough info. I am usually on the computer in the evenings as I have two kids that keep me insane during the day.

    Thanks so much for your help. I really am about to send this system flying off my deck!
