seems more people look in here so someone can move it if need be

I got an email warning about a virus disguised as an anti virus calling it
Anitvirus 2009.
Just now while I was looking on the net it popped up and started scanning . I couldn't close it my pc froze so I shut the whole thing off. Seems gone now, knock wood. Can't say exactly what site it was.
Has an icon like the Security center in the control panel.
Anyway, watch out for it.

Hi Darlene

This is fake antivirus that tries to fool you into thinking once the scan is finished that you have malware and need to install this software, however this software is the malware.

Some info here and Here (also goes by the names of XPAntivirus 2007/8/9 and variences of) however if you feel your PC is compromised I would urge you to run the Read Me in our Malware forum for removal steps.

lol, Anti-Virus 2009 (also know as Anti-Virus 2008, XP Antivirus, Vista Antivirus.... list goes on and on), That thing alone it was infects 90% of the computers i work on. Nothing that a good virus and spyware scanner and a good reg-edit can't fix.

I've been having enough trouble with my computer, so I freaked when that popped up. Seems just as I get it going again the darn thing won't start.
Think I now have three of all my documents and pictures, lol at least they weren't lost.
