Note To Self....

....due to lack of rain, expect sand to be softer than usual.

Took Abby (look CP, no "e" ) to the beach today, have parked in basically the same spot at Crossroads for 13 years...well, it's been so dry here the sand edges of the grassy parking area are pretty much 3 feet of talcum powder. Got parked okay, but when we left, backed the car up about 5 feet and it sank...right up to the frame. That extra couple dollars a month I pay on my car insurance for emergency road service just paid for itself.

I went into damage control mode and put Abby behind the wheel while we waited for the wrecker, that way all the passersby thought the "blonde" did it.

Abby's Quote-of-the-Day: "Maybe we should park on the other side of the porta-potty next time". Oh, that woman rocks.

Don't ask....there will NOT be pictures of this beach trip; if there is, the population of Albion, NY, will increase by 1.

LoL! Nothing worse than that sinking feeling when the car encounters that unexpected sand pit.

What I don't get is, the guy works for NASA, and seems pretty smart, yet he parked on sand and got bogged?

No, as I said there's sand before the grassy area we park on; I've parked there for over 15 years and never had a problem before, but the drought is so bad here the sand acts more like talcum powder. And to continue beating this to death, the car sank, I didn't get stuck.

Maybe I should post pics, and a police report, and some witness statements, a signed affadavit from the wrecker driver, and oh yeah, video.

Now pardon me while I go into my user CP and lie about my age.
