Need a little help. I have an HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook (Canada)

The issue has always been a sound and minor video lag / crackle ever few minutes. Lately is has got worse, and today I got an error and lost all sound:

"This problem was caused by Sigmatel C-Major audio driver, which was created by Integrated Device Technology, Inc. and is distributed by your computer manufacturer"

I have been trying to update drivers for the last week but can't find out what sound card or onboard sound i actually have or how to update the drivers.

I have 2 bluetooth devices, IDT HD Audio, and Nvidia HDMI Audio devices.

Anyone have any idea how to update the drivers / how to get rid of the crackle/lag problem with Visita?

    Video Card: 9600M GT
OS: Vista 64bit Home Premium SP1

All the help is much appreciated, thanks,
    Robb

There are over 300 different models that match "dv7 canada". Please generate an Everest hardware report and upload it as an attachment to a future post:

Sorry, that would probably be a good idea - I'll take a look at Announcements before i post another problem.

I think I did this right, here is my scan file.

    Thanks again,
    Robb

p.s. the file was too big to upload as .txt so i removed what looked kind of pointless...knowing my luck it is all you probably need. I removed PCI Debug section which had a bunch of

Thanks, but unfortunately the report doesn't have any useful info in it :( We need you to flip over the laptop and post the EXACT model number. I realize that it is a dv7 (or dv7000 series) but the exact model will look something like "dv7027ca". It's usually on a small white sticker. Without this number, it is almost impossible to continue. I was hoping the model number would be listed in the report, but it just says "Unknown".

After looking through it I thought the same thing, a lot of unknowns.

On the bottom it says "HP Pavilion dv7-1038ca Entertainment Notebook PC"

    I think that`s the exact match on HP's no 300+ results :)
    Hope that helps,
    Robb
