Notepad Fault

    Hi, again just posting a problem solved. Saw some other peeps somewhere had same or similar.

    Problem: Notepad starts with no menu bar, impossible to close properly and requres killing / log off / reboot to get rid of it. As Notepad default editor for loads of stuff, real PITA.

    Possible Solution: In my case, I was building a new XP install and checked carefully as to when the problem started. In my case, I ran a disc AOpen for NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5900, and was given the option to install the nView manager (as well as the basic drivers). Taking this option produced the Notepad problem. I used System Restore, then ducked the option next time round - result, Notepad stays fine. (No transparent screens and useless stuff... as no fancy manager).

    Maybe there are other reasons, but this was the solution in my case, and may apply to others. If it fixes for you, send me a PM.:)
