Nothing seems to work now

I'm not sure what happened or how I even got it...but I use googlechrome and I was on my FB...I leave it on while I go to work so when I got home from work and went to check my FB out I had a window that popped up and it said I had a virus...it totally looked legit cuz it had the windows logo on it...it then directed me to download "THINKPOINT" and I did not knowing anything cuz again it had the windows logo on it so I thought it was ok. When I downloaded this and followed its directions it totally freezed my computer up...I had to shut down several times and got my daughter to help me get rid of it. We followed the instructions on how to get rid of it and after that I totally cleaned my system. I also uninstalled my googlechrome using revo-uninstaller only because I was having issues with it running slow to begin with...so after I uninstalled some other things I didn't need or want I finished cleaning the computer totally. When I got up this morning and turned it on I was trying to download googlechrome again...it was going thru the download steps but then it stops and said I already have googlechrome on my computer and to uninstall it...this is where I'm getting frustrated cuz I've looked everywhere for this so called googlechrome they say I have and it is nowhere to be found...if it's still on my computer hhow do I find it? I've looked in all the folders...I've searched for it and I've looked in even programs to add/remove things and it's not there. Now I'm getting worried that maybe I didn't get this virus taken care of or something else is wrong...Can anyone please help me? The only reason I like the googlechrome is how it opens all the windows for me and I find it so much easier to use...Please anyone...Help:cry
