Numerous outbound connections

    Hello,

I have completed the step in the 'Read First' thread and that did not resolve my problem.

Here is the problem: When I open either Internet Explorer or Firefox numerous outbound connections begin appearing in my Firewall software (Comodo). The connections go from 2 to over a 100 upon opening either browser. The connections are to many different IPs and only a small amount (bytes) of data is transfered. I have also experienced one instance of a browser re-direct.

I run Avast for Virus Checking and Comodo for firewalling.

I tried all the malware removal aids I knew of before finding this site - all to no avail. Even the First Steps removal thread software has not resolved the issue.

These problems have been going on for a few weeks and I don't have a good idea of what could have triggered them.

    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

I have attached the log files to this message per the Vista / Windows 7 thread.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me in resolving this nasty infiltration.

Please disable your AV software and get me a log from ComboFix. Your outbound connections may just be software that you have installed.

Thank you for your quick reply. I've attached the log from Combo Fix as you requested.

I am starting to think that my issue might just be one of misunderstanding of how website connections work. My homepage is always set to Yahoo.com and it is bringing in information from all over the web (it seems) so I am now thinking that these numerous connections are in reality just my homepage pulling in the required information to display the page.

I might have just got a bit jumpy from odd system behavior I have been having and assumed it was a virus. I've had some really nasty ones in the past that required complete system rebuild so I want to resolve this one now and started looking for evidence!

If you find nothing untoward in the attached log I will assume it is my own paranoia rather than a virus affecting my machine.

    Thank you again.

I see Comodo in your Combo log, but not in your Add/Remove list.

    You are also showing these:
Whereas, the only AV program I see is Avast. Did you once have these installed?

What program are you using for a firewall, as I don't see one in your logs?

I am using Comodo as my Firewall and Avast as my Antivirus.

I disabled all spyware/antivirus/firewall software prior to running the tools as requested in the Read First Thread.

All of the items you listed below I was using on my computer to help resolve the problem (Webroot) or am using daily protection (MSE, Comodo) :

I am not sure why comodo isn't showing in the add/remove list.

You should have only one firewall and one AV program. Uninstall the others. What issues are remaining, if any? Comodo should tell you what is trying to outbound connect to the internet.
