I looked at the pop up suggestions and none seem to apply. There are ton of hits for the NXCOSMB.dll question.

My question is: where is a reliable source to get an updated or 'good' one
that can be installed during an XP Windows repair cycle? This has popped up for an unaccountable reason. It asks for a location for the file from Nvidia SMBUS Drivers. I searched my Biostar motherboard install disk and could find nothing about it. Also, those file trees are complicated on install disks and I want to go to one file and have it load from the D: drive.

As this install progrsses (I'll cancel out of it) and see how far I can get to find any other dll's that are unavaialbe from the disk I have used for years-- very peculiar.

Here is what I got for a solution to the problem of XP Setup being interrupted and looping over and over when rebooting.

This applies to anytime the power is shutdown or lost (like an outage.)
For me, the install hung up when there was a piece of hardware the
system did not recognize and so I simply had to quit the install and go to a different HD.

This location provided a good answer and I'll show the direct link and the
procedure. It just got me past where setup couldn't find the file needed and I didn't know what it was asking for at the truncated location it was seeking (filename~ directory~ etc.)

A solution is here at WindowsBBS.com

I have one other idea to try:

Once the repair stops, remove the CD from the drive and reboot
Don't enter the CD when the installation asks for it, instead open a

    DOS prompt (Shift + F10)
Go to the folder C:\windows\inf (type cd C:\windows\inf and press

    [Enter])
Delete the INFCACHE.1 file (type Del INFCACHE.1 and press [Enter])
Insert the XP installation CD and Continue the installation

I had to click through (cancel) one other item and then the fractured install completed.

After the install completed, a redo of the install will have found the proper drivers, then run motherboard install. Then install your unrecognized hardware and use it's driver disk.
