   Processor - Intel Q6600
   RAM - 4GB DDR2 1066
   GFX - EVGA nVidia 8800 GTX x2 SLI
   HDD - 500GB SATA 2
   Win XP Pro
   
   Almost identical symptoms as above. I could not even reinstall XP without first unplugging the SATA drive and starting over. I'm glad it happened before I started installing software other than drivers.
   
   Is the idea of not installing the SATA drivers actually working for people?
