Hey, a friend of mine has given me his 6600GT as he believes its completely dead. Aparently he was just on the menu's while playing need for speed and screen just went black and that was it. Its deffinately a graphics card problem rather than a motherboards because the card which he's bought to replace the 6600GT works fine.

The fan on the card spins when you boot up but there is no signal what so ever comming from the card.. any ideas on possible recsue?

splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

It sounds like that card is toast, is there any physical damage like blown caps, burnt gpu? It was probably just that cards time to die, it seems certain it is a problem with th card and there isn't usually any way to fix a video card.

Nope, there is a capasitor bludging a very very small amout but ive seen far far worse on a perfectly working card and the GPU looks fine. It looks like this cards time has come.. R.I.P 6600GT :(
