When I'm watching youtube clips,I'm using the NVIDIA 8600GT card, and the 275.33 drivers don't seem to like me putting it in,or out of fullscreen mode as it randomly crashes when I do this. I had this problem with the latest version of the NVIDIA drivers as well, before I removed it and downgraded in hope that a driver that wasn't in beta would fix the problem.
Error message below, copied from Who Crashed. Could anyone recommend a NVIDIA driver that actually works without this problem?

On Sun 11/6/2011 4:26:30 AM GMT your computer crashed
    crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini110611-02.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nv4_disp.dll (nv4_disp+0x1DDA7C)
    Bugcheck code: 0x1000008E (0xFFFFFFFFE0000001, 0xFFFFFFFFF77C7925, 0xFFFFFFFFB1C9ED4C, 0x0)
    Error: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M
    file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\nv4_disp.dll
product: NVIDIA Windows XP Display driver, Version 275.33
    company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows XP Display driver, Version 275.33
Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nv4_disp.dll (NVIDIA Windows XP Display driver, Version 275.33 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: nv4_disp.dll NVIDIA Corporation KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M

Don't forget some leftovers may remain in your system , follow this and install the drivers again , NVIDIA 8600GT is like a devil with problematic chipset !! :wave

I'll try that and see how it goes, but really since I updated my drivers to 282 and then downgraded to 275.33 it's been playing up like this frequently. Before I did that it was fine, which makes me suspect a driver problem.

Newer drivers are obviously not always better. If the change log doesn't exactly specify that your issue is fixed then the old adage applies 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it'!;)

But I needed the Nvidia Control Panel to persuade one of my old games to work, The only way I could get that is by a new driver install,or I wouldn't have done it.

Hmmm, then go to the earliest nVidia release that supports your card for CP. I don't know the first drivers that they had for CP. I'm not even sure that it's your issue. Follow the above cleaning steps first.
