This card wasn't working right and couldn't get it to take a driver so I decided to flash the video bios. However, there was a problem with the bios download. it was a corrupted zip file which means I extracted "air" with an extension. Now the card really doesn't work. However Nbit says the card is still good (i am using a pci video card to get back on). Is it possible to flash the bios running on my pci card (with the card still in my agp slot) I tried it. it didn't work for me. maybe there is another way. is there?

There have been thousands of posts since I "posted" this question. I could really use some wisdom here. thanks

Where did you get that video card BIOS update?

Thanks for your help. And I appreciate your reply last time even when you weren't sure. I'm pretty sure (99%) it was x-drivers.com.

Is the brand of your card - the card, not just the graphics chip on it - nVidia? I'm still curious about exactly what BIOS update file you downloaded. I found this: http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/bi...nies/nvidia/models/geforce_fx5200/index.html; I have no idea how one decides which of those updates to choose.

Did you backup your video card BIOS before attempting to flash it, as described here: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1633&page=3

Edit: After another look at the x-drivers page linked above, I gather you need to know the Rev. # of your card to choose the right BIOS update.
