Nvrd.32.sys problems w/XP

I have a Dell that has dual boot XP/Ubuntu. Trying to remove Ubuntu, freak accident happened. I deleted windows partition. I have been trying for weeks to reinstall XP and rid myself of Ubuntu. I cant because of the dreaded nvrd.32.sys mess. Im not that talented w/the innards of the pc. Ive tried all bios suggestions, unplugged all networking and wireless components, and also made sure no usb devices are plugged in(suggested it has to do w/keyboard on usb)didn't work. I am so tired of this, someone has got to have an answer to this. Otherwise this pc is only useful for an ugly doorstop.:cry

From what I understand, nvrd32.sys is an nVidia RAID driver. Because Windows XP does not carry native RAID support, the file must be loaded during the initial XP installation.

Do you have the original Dell resource CD? And, what is the model # and service tag # of your machine?

 

Thanks so much for your reply and suggestions. For some sort of freak of nature, I got the darn thing to install. I am not sure now what step it was that changed it. I had long since began to not care about backtracking out of pure frustration. So to anyone else who is having same issue, So Sorry I dont know how I did it.
