Even a secure router is not safe any more.
I have had an instance a few weeks ago where i received an e-mail saying that i was illegally using a particular software, and as i had never even heard of the software in question it was baffling until i realized that someone was using my wifi.
I had just had a new system installed by my ISP for testing before they roll it out to all clients.
My PC is hard wired to the router and with my old system i shut off the wifi but had forgotten to do it on the new router and even though it was password protected it was breached, i suppose i should be happy that it was only an application that they used and not downloaded child pornography or it may have been me under the gun.

I have a suspicion who breached my router but as nothing further has happened i will let it pass and now i have closed that wifi so it is no longer available.
